The plan moving forward! What in store at The Scouting News?

July has been our best month ever! Now let's move forward with discussing The Scouting News' focus for 2007-2008. Our goal is real simple: BE MORE SUCCESSFUL and BE NUMBER ONE! We will let others talk the talk, while we walk the walk … our draft rankings were 200% more accurate than the second leading competitor, our NTDP projections were at 91% this season and we received the most traffic this season. We want an encore! Over 6000 AAA, prep school, Junior A, Major Junior and NCAA players have interviewed for The Scouting News in the past twenty four months. We have been number one in traffic for half a decade ... but we plan to be bigger this year!

The Scouting News - forward thinking.

Our focus moving forward is on raising the bar of excellence.

Here is our plan:

1.

Build a new site
Our customers have spoken, we had listened, and a better product will be forthcoming for 2007/2008. Wait till you see what we have in store!

2.

Do more!

More news, views, stories, photos, player information … and the launch of two new sites The Scouting News Europe and Women's Scouting News.

We will be working harder, smarter and having more fun with the site this year!

3.

Help kids!

The Scouting News is in the business to accurately report players and provide information the hockey community needs.

The Scouting News has launched the internet's first free online Scouting Service aptly called TIP SHEET.

The Scouting News will put information on every top athlete in North America in the hands of every recruiter.

4.

Get rid of the boards!

Despite the loss of google adsense revenue and traffic message boards created for The Scouting News we will stand by our decision. Our goal is to focus on meaningful and reliable content.

5.

Listen

Our job is to listen and report with no bias. Our accuracy reflects we are doing the job.

Parents: players: scouts: agents and fans: Do your homework

Before you spend a dime on The Scouting News, or any other scouting service be sure to do homework, check references, see how often the sites are updated, check and see if they work twelve months a year, see what players have interviewed - been featured by the organization, see if they offer testimonials and check out the firm's accuracy rate over the long term to ensure they have credibility.

What others have to say

To end on a positive note: here are what a couple of nice folks who's kids are top twenty ranked North American 1992 prospects had to say about The Scouting News.

Compuware 1992 AAA hockey mom Mary Watson (the mother of Austin Watson) had a nice post on a message board recently:

"I must tell you all that our oldest son Austin has been named (#9) for hockey players of his birth year (1992) in all of North America!!!!  We have all sacrificed so much, especially him. He has worked so hard and is achieving his goals. There are lots of lists that people put together but only a few are actually important and have meaning. This is one of them!!!! Thanks for letting me share this with you."

Hockey dad Jeff Theriau, whose son was drafted in the first round of the WHL draft also had some kind words:

"Hope things with you and your family are going very well. I would like to take the time to say thank you for all that you have done in featuring my son Alex on your website. We have been very appreciative of all your reports on him over the past two years. We find your sight informative and up to date with current events in hockey. Your continued support this past year although humbling at times was still very well appreciated. There is no doubt that some of your articles put these youths in hockey on the map. We enjoy visiting your site and hopefully will in the future. Good luck to you and your database of players in their quest to go to the next level."

Thanks to all!
